Top 5 Dental Resolutions for 2019

Happy New Year! As 2019 begins with lists of resolutions to be kept, here are a few to move you toward a healthier smile.

  1. Brush twice a day, especially before going to sleep at night. Removing food particles and residue from your teeth before going to bed at night keeps bacteria and nasty residue from damaging your teeth and gums. 

  2. Floss every day. Brushing only gets the surface of teeth. Flossing removes all the smaller particles that get in between the teeth. Keep your gums healthier and your breath fresher by flossing.

  3.  Schedule regular cleaning appointments. Dental hygienists remove built up tarter and plaque that collects on teeth as well as oral exams.

  4. Never procrastinate with dental pain.  If there is a problem, focus on helping maintain as much of the tooth structure as possible. Waiting for a prolonged period can cause a bigger problem.
