Should I Floss?

We're all looking for a great smile at the end of the day. Scheduling cleanings and comprehensive exams is and important factor in your dental health. When talking to our dental hygienist, their tip of the day is always to brush well and floss.

Do you floss everyday? There was a news report a couple of years back that suggested there was not enough evidence to support flossing. Before you throw those little containers of waxed thread away that have been cluttering your cabinet space, we suggest you 'SNOPES' this one out and read the rest of the story. It's very interesting and states that due to cost and other factors, this report is not founded on accurate research.

With that in mind, let's revert to the experts that assist you with your dental health on a close and personal basis; your local dentist and dental hygienist.

Dee has been with Smiles for All, Dr. Bastian's office for 35 years helping to make smiles brighter and healthier. Her advice? Floss, always floss. The evidence of a clean and healthy smile is always on the other side of good dental hygiene. Another thing you will often hear, "Only floss the teeth you want to keep."

So tonight before you go to sleep, brush those pearly whites, and shake the dust off that little pack of floss. Your smile will thank you.
